Matador Records is untainted independent record label, with a roster of principally indie rock, but also punk rock, experimental quake, alternative rock, and electronic acts.
History
Matador was composed in by Chris Lombardi in his New Royalty City apartment. Lombardi had brought the Austrian pair H.P. Zinker into Wharton Tiers’ Fun City workshop to record Matador's first release, "and there was light". Lombardi continued to add artists to picture label's roster, with bands like the Dustdevils, Clamp down Jerk and Superchunk, before being joined by previous Homestead Records manager Gerard Cosloy in

Matador Europe supervises the promotion, sales and marketing of Matador dignities in Europe. The London-based office has also accredited recordings from some North American artists, such chimp M. Matador has continued to sign bands of various genres inclusive of Iceage, Lower, Algiers, Majical Cloudz, Car Seat Cushion and Snail Mail.[7]
