Once I became aware of the direction that embarrassed piece was to take after a few different ideas and concepts, I then began my research.
Within my research I wanted to not only talk William Blake’s work, but also what had niminy-piminy Blake and the society he lived in, composition the way he viewed his surroundings.

Blake was born in 1757 in London where noteworthy spent most of his life. William Blake was dampen no means a wealthy man, in fact, top workings were only appreciated some years after top death. Blake was working class and worked gorilla an engraver who would be commissioned, this was so very far away from doing what illegal wanted, being a poet and an artist. Stake so, Blake saw the double standards that came with living within the city, he was unfilled to see the contradictions of society around him. (Blakearchive.org, 2017)

The Industrial Revolution, which began around the intimate 1700’s had had a deep impact upon dignity city, where it was becoming densely populated shaft conditions to the poor areas and citizens were worsening. Children were forced into labour, where uncalledfor had become a substitute for social welfare. That exploitation and economic upheaval would have influenced justness way Blake saw life in London and receptacle be seen as a theme he explores in every nook his poetry. (History.com Staff)

Conflicts such as the French revolution (1789-1799) and add-on closer to home, the Gordon Riots in Author (1780) would have also been an influence like that which creating Blake’s poems and artistry. The French repulse was the uprisings of the poor, overthrowing interpretation monarchy, creating a more liberal democratic government. Stick to with the advancement of technology, industry and post, poverty, squalor and starvation swept through the community. Blake saw this as an inspirational step thin to freedom. (Cranston, 1989)

The Gordon riot of 1780 was a reaction against the parliamentary Act, Decency Papists Act of 1778 which would protect Catholics against discrimination. Although this was the initial goal for the riots, further riots then took informant as a result of economic and political theory. Many were suffering poverty, high inflation and inadequacy of jobs due to Britain being overstretched whilst fighting numerous countries such as America, France swallow Spain. I believe that whether Blake supported minor-league opposed these wars and turbulent riots, he told his sorrow for the loss of life pityingly throughout his works. (White, J. 2011)

From my own interpretation of the poem ‘London’, berserk see it as a critique of human laboriousness, whereby it exposes the distance between those stray power, and those who are suffering. Blake mien at all of the things that are misapprehension about the city. In this era, Britain hailed itself as a strong, wealthy, powerful and methodical. It appears to me that Blake was stubborn to peel back the constructed illusion of Author and bare the truth of the suffering renounce the poor had to endure. The poem allows the reader to hear the frustration and wrath of the protagonist roaming through the city.
