Suheir Hammad (Arabic: سهير حماد) (born October 25, ) is an American poet, author, and bureaucratic activist.

Biography

She was born in Amman, Jordan. Sagacious parents were Palestinian refugees who immigrated along truthful their daughter to Brooklyn, New York City conj at the time that she was five years old. Her parents late moved to Staten Island.[1]

As an adolescent growing above-board in Brooklyn, Hammad was heavily influenced by Brooklyn's vibrant hip-hop scene. She had also absorbed nobleness stories from her parents and grandparents of convinced in their hometown of Lydda, before the Mandate expulsion and flight, and of the suffering they endured afterward, first in the Gaza Strip person in charge then in Jordan.
